holiday rental with self-catering for a true home away from home experience in Italy
Whether you spend your days exploring the region and eating out, or buy farm fresh local produce to cook in Jenny's fabulous kitchen, or just relax 'a casa' reading and doing the things you never make time for normally, it's impossible not to fall in love with the lifestyle of Ca' di Gosto. This beautiful five hundred year old honey-coloured stone farmhouse is set within wooded hills, with views of Umbria and Tuscany....cont'd
Surrounded by five acres of ancient olive trees which produce award-winning olive oil, the property has an organic vegetable garden, and contented hens wandering gently around the grounds laying the most delicious eggs.
The house has been painstakingly restored over several years to maintain it's original character while adding contemporary luxury and comfort; Centuries-old stone and terracotta floors now have underfloor heating. The bathrooms are decorated with handmade Sicilian ceramic tiles while the baths and fixtures were brought from France and England.
The house sleeps 10 in 4 1/2 double bedrooms (twin or double beds), each with it's own private bathroom.
The chestnut-beamed sitting room lies at its heart. With a huge fireplace, a rose-coloured sofa piled high with cushions, a coffee table laden with books and every inch of white wall hung with paintings, this and the large dining room are very inviting for house parties and entertaining.
The true heart of the house is probably the kitchen. With two sofas, a large open fireplace and dining table you never have to go anywhere else...
...with a very large walk-in pantry larder
...eat inside or "al fresco"
wander the garden and let the breathtaking flowers lull you into relaxation
Lie under the shade of the olive trees or soak up the sun beside the 'Pebbletec' natural pool. With it's salt water filter the water is delightfully soft and un-chlorinated.
